Meet The Doctors

Alesia Burge, DMD

Dr. Alesia Burge earned her dental degree in 2010 from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to 2010, she attended the University of Connecticut where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in public health. Dr. Burge is a member of the American Dental Association and the Connecticut State Dental Association. She values the importance of taking continuing education courses to focus on evolving techniques and advancements in the field of dentistry.

Dr. Burge takes the time to communicate with each patient and respects their opinions and concerns. She answers all questions to ensure that patients are fully informed, empowered and aware of their options for dental care. She is very attentive to the needs of her patients and continuously focuses on oral health education and the oral systemic link. Dr. Burge’s approach to dentistry has always involved providing excellent dental care with patience, warmth, and compassion. As a general dentist, she provides an array of dental procedures including comprehensive oral evaluations, oral cancer screenings, teeth whitening, sealants, space maintainers, restorations, night/sports guards, crown and bridge, root canal therapy, partial and complete denture fabrication, Invisalign, and extractions.

When Dr. Burge is not in the office, she loves reading, savoring different cultural cuisines, and traveling. She enjoys taking day trips to Rhode Island, Block Island, Boston and the Connecticut shoreline.

Marcelo Maldonado, DMD

Dr. Marcelo Maldonado received his BS from the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from UCONN Dental School in 2008. He enjoys all types of dentistry and has special interest in the area of dental implant placement, attaining over 100 hours of advanced education in the past year alone.

Dr. Maldonado lives in Plainville, CT with his wife, infant son, and three dogs. He and his wife enjoy gardening, antiques, traveling, and staying fit.

Naseema Maiary, DDS

Dr. Maiary is from Karachi, Pakistan, and earned her first dental degree from the University of Karachi. In 2002 she came to the U.S. to start her General Practice Residency Program, the first year at St Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT, and the second year at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. On returning to Connecticut, she started working with the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine as an Associate Professor and was director of the Concept Pilot Project that incorporated undergrad student and graduate residents in the same clinical environment. She moved to private practice in 2014 and has been part-time in private practice ever since.

She is currently still working as a part-time professor at University of Connecticut, where she provides clinical instruction to the post-graduate residents and undergraduate students.

When not working, Dr. Maiary enjoys time with her 2 daughters, gardening, being outdoors and working with local charities to serve underprivileged community members.
